What's worse for a speaker, too much or too little power? Problems occur (in everyday operation) when distortion is fed to a speaker. This occurs MUCH more often when you are dealing with an underpowered system - typically the owner will turn up the volume too much or set the amplifier gains too high to try and get more volume from the system. These introduce distortion to the signal - this will destroy *any* speaker. When a speaker is overpowered, however, it is not nearly as common to have these kind of problems, so speakers aren't blown as much. Of course, it is certainly possible to destroy a speaker (thermally) by overpowering it, but you'll have a pretty hard time doing this on your own, especially with standard car audio amplifiers. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I have speakers I bought from another location. Can you install them? Yes, our experienced staff can install many items purchased from places other than Audio Center. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Does your work carry a warranty? Yes, being an authorized dealer, the products we install are covered under warranty. However, you must purchase the product from us to recieve the warranty. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Can replace my radio and not my entire audio system? Yes, in most cases all you need is a mounting kit, wiring harness, and antenna adaptor. We carry all of the accessories needed to install an aftermarket head unit and our knowledgeable staff will gladly install your aftermarket radio. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Should I stick with one brand of stero throughout the whole system? Some customers prefer to buy all of one brand. While this is fine it is not necessary. In fact most car audio systems installed today have a combination of name brands. Just go with what you like, making sure it’s the proper size and proper power. AMPLIFIERS AND SPEAKERS ARE BUILT TO MATCH UP WITH any top manufacturers CD and or DVD in dash players. However if you are not the adventuresome type, sticking with one brand is guaranteed compatibility. |
